For the first time ever, Disney Cruise Line® will set sail from three new ports in 2012 – New York, Seattle and Galveston – making the Disney family cruise vacation more accessible around the country. There are also more itinerary choices than ever before, including one special voyage to Hawai‘i.
Beginning May 25, 2012, the Disney Magic® will sail a total of 20 cruises from New York.
8-night Bahamian cruises include a day at Disney’s Castaway Cay and a stop at Port Canaveral, gateway to the Walt Disney World® Resort. As part of this itinerary, clients will receive a one-day Park Hopper® Ticket and roundtrip transportation between the ship and resort.
Los Angeles Sailings In addition to 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises, the Disney Wonder will set sail on Disney’s first-ever voyage to Hawai‘i on April 29, 2012.
15-night Hawaiian cruise departs from the Port of Los Angeles and includes stops at Hilo; Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Nawiliwili, Kauai and Ensenada, Mexico.
The Disney Dream™ will continue to sail 3-, 4- and 5-night Bahamian cruises. The new Disney Fantasy™ will offer Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, beginning with the maiden voyage on March 31, 2012. Sail dates for both ships are now available through December 2012.
Disney Fantasy Begins To Take Shape!
On Feb. 11, 2011, Disney Cruise Line® celebrated the keel laying of the Disney Fantasy™ at the Meyer Werft shipyard. This is the second of two newly designed ships that take the family cruise experience to all-new heights. The sister ship to the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Dream™ entered service on Jan. 26, 2011.
The keel laying ceremony is a significant milestone in the ship building process when the first block, or section of the ship, is lowered into the building dock and a coin is placed under the keel for good fortune. Placing the coin was Karl Holz, President of Disney Cruise Line, assisted by Minnie Mouse.
The Disney Fantasy will offer many of the innovations that the Disney Dream currently features and brought to the cruise industry for the very first time, including AquaDuck -- the world’s first shipboard water coaster. However, the Disney Fantasy will feature a few new design elements and Guest experiences that will give the ship a unique identity all her own.
The 4,000-passenger Disney Fantasy will sail weeklong Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Fla., beginning with its maiden voyage scheduled for March 31, 2012. In addition, the Western Caribbean itinerary will change to feature a stop at Costa Maya. Bookings are now open for sail dates through August 2012.
Disney launches website showcasing Children's Activities!
Disney Cruise Line® has so many onboard spaces and activities created just for kids, they've created an entire website dedicated to them! Featuring helpful videos, www.justforkidsdcl.com highlights all the special onboard areas designed just for kids, tweens, teens and toddlers. The new website features nine video segments designed to help guests get a true understanding of how the onboard kids experience includes not only memorable character interactions, but also custom-built areas with Disney-exclusive programs that are unique in the cruise industry. This site is the perfect research tool! This site is also compatible on many mobile devices, such as iPhones and iPads.

This new, stand-alone mini-site provides an interactive, self-guided tour using images, short videos and a clickable map to showcase the “uniquely Disney” attractions, activities and services on the 1,000-acre island. For example, you can check out the new Pelican Plunge floating water platform; explore activities for kids, teens, adults and families; pinpoint the location of private beach cabanas; even learn something about the island’s history.
